Buglist Project 2020
The Buglist project 2020 was a project I did in my design thinking class at Futures Lab. This project was perhaps the biggest project in the class. In terms of what skills it demonstrates I think it overlaps between civic/interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills. The reason I say it overlaps is because it both required a lot of communication, collaboration, problem solving and creativity. This project started as a group project which was a little weird to get used to as it was virtual, however my partner and I made it work with good communication and collaboration between the two of us. We started this project by pooling our ideas together and making a presentation. After the presentation we got feedback from our audience on which idea we should go with. We ended up going with vehicle organization, after doing that we created empathy interviews and interviewed a couple people each. after we got our feedback we went separate ways with our design and ideas because we decided it would be easier to do it that way. I ended up designing an organizer net or roof net that clips on to various places in the vehicle. I believe that this project not only showed my collaborative and individual work skills, it demonstrates my ability to engage with the end user during interviews, as well as demonstrate my problem solving approach to learning. This project took time to really think about what space is never used for storage on the inside of vehicles. This approach both displays creativity and problem solving skills. In the end I turned in my prototype along with a brief explanation of what it does and solves. My teacher Kelly, really liked the effort and time I poured into designing this prototype along with the work I did individually.
